7 - 23 - 02 Great new background theme - the first character images from Weiß Kreuz Glühen!!! Weiß Kreuz :Glühen is coming! According to the new info posted on the Marine Entertainment site, Glühen has been set to air on Kids Station in September. There is a long apology on the Marine site about the delay of the new Weiß ad they applaud the fans for their patience. Now I don't know what Glühen will be about - we'll just have to wait and see, but it is sure that there are brand spankin' new character designs. (see Aya in the background - hey, baby!) Check out the new designs for the guys at Koyasu-san's official site link to the left or the Weiß Kreuz official link in "Links". Although Koyasu-san may have come up with the idea for Weiß, it was Tsuchiya who designed their look - so she had a right to sue when her designs were not being use par the agreement she had with the company. Apparently, to settle things between Kyoko Tsuchiya, Animate, and Marine Ent., they decide to come up with new character designs that did not breech the contract. I have to say that I'm very pleased with the new designs. No one looks completely different, just slightly changed - like they had a makeover. The most different is Omi, who seems like he either got his cousin to take his place or got plastic surgery and dyed his hair - but he still looks ok. Most of all they got new battle gear that has a cross motif of course! The 3rd volume of Weiß American edition, "Knight Hunters: Lonely Hearts?", is out now. The 4rd volume of Weiß Kreuz American edition is to be released Aug. 27 and will be called "Knight Hunters: Shining Cross". ABOUT: Ad space
for upcoming info about Glühen and new image button at bottom for Glühen. 4 - 23 - 02 Ta daa! New background theme! This time it's Carnival 2000 - another Weiss Music Clip Animation. Concerning "Weiß Kreuz :Glühen" - About a month ago (it's gone now) on Kyoko Tsuchiya's page I believe there were statements concerning the fact that she didn't received proper royalty compensation from Animate, the company that distributes and markets all Weiß material. It seems that this lawsuit has put a dead stop to all that is Weiß including "Glühen" until further notice. You can see the curent statement from Marine Entertainment about the Weiß and Weiß Glühen situation from the link at left, you can use to AltaVista Babel Fish to translate the Japanese to get a "gist" of what it says because it's not a concrete translation. The 2nd volume of Weiß Kreuz - American edition is out and the DVD cover is in multimedia. Nice packaging, bad cover timing: I have some comments about the cover this time - why use the cover with Omi and Ouka now?! They should have waited to use it for volume 3 when it would have meant something to have Omi crying on the cover. The 3rd volume of Weiß Kreuz American edition was originally scheduled to be released May 28, now it's been moved back to June 25. Volume three will be called "Knight Hunters: Lonely Hearts?". ABOUT: Fixed broken
manga links. 2 - 23 - 02 Firstly, the site has been changed (not drastically, just slightly). New images accompany the pages. They are captures from one of the Weiß Music Clip Animations - Tokyo Sling! Also the sections are on different pages to help loading times, as to hopefully give some ease to those with a 56k connection. Ok...now I'm highly disappointed. "Weiß Kreuz :Glühen" was suppose to debut in Japan during March, but now it's not. In fact, I don't know if we'll see Glühen at all... "Doushite?" you ask. Apparently, there is a lawsuit going on between Kyoko Tsuchiya (Weiß manga creator & character designer) and Animate the company who produces the Weiß animation and its merchandise. What is it about? I don't know. Hopefully this doesn't mean we won't see the series at all, it will be just delayed for a while. It seems pending the lawsuit the official Weiß site at Marine Entertainment has been taken offline. (Boo! Hiss!) Don't know when it will be back up. Now on to more positive Weiß news: The second volume of Weiß Kreuz - American edition will be out March 26, 2002. Just like the previous volume it will contain 5 episodes, Anime Works will release a VHS-dubbed, VHS-subbed, and DVD versions. This volume is called "Knight Hunters: Lost Boys". Thanx! I want to thank those of you who have visited my page - hope you enjoyed your stay! LINKS: Note about official Weiß being down. Disconneted the link until further notice. 1-08-02 It's a new year and new Weiß is coming! Weiß Kreuz tv series 2, also known as Weiß Kreuz: Glühen (White Cross: Glowing) is coming. Apparently, the series is still in production mode and will begin airing in Japan in March. If you want to see production character head shots of the boys, CLICK THE IMAGE at the left. It seems there is a different head animator in charge...the designs of the characters are pretty much the same, although they seem to have more fluid expressions. Also, is that Aya with long hair? The first volume of the American released DVD is out! (cover in multimedia) It contains the first five episodes. They did a nice job with the box design, hope they keep it up with the upcoming covers. The English is ok (I've seen worse, and better), my one problem is that the guys all sound the same! The English voiceactors for Omi and Ken are the best, Yoji will do, and Aya's voice needs to take a vacation. Overall, generally pleased...can't wait for the 2nd volume. You can go pick the DVD up at your local Anime DVD seller - try MEDIA PLAY ! ABOUT: First 9 pages of the volume 2 manga is up. (Aya's Dream/Nightmare) MULTIMEDIA: New DVD section. The first volume DVD cover is there. WELCOME
11-01-01 All the sections are up. I will update the page about every week or two. I'll let you know what has been added or subtracted. This main page will act as a news page also and inform you on any brand spankin' new data about Weiß Kreuz. Speaking of brand new data : It seems that Weiß Kreuz TV has been licensed in the U.S.! Yeah, DVD, baby! Hope it has extras. Anyhow, the first DVD is to be released, according to AnimeNation, in mid-December by AnimeWorks - the same company who licensed Rurouni Kenshin and Magic Knight Rayearth. (They will release it on VHS as well.) Apparently, they're going with the title of the show that was used in Canada "Knight Hunters" with the subtitle "Weiss Kreuz". The title of the first volume DVD is called "Dead Ringers" and it's going to have the first 5 episodes on it. Check out "animenation.com" for addtional info and to preorder. |
